P-L-A-Y Will Cause You Lose Your Anointing

Sri Lanka Missions in October 2006
Leadership Seminar: Beyond Your Capacity

Summary of Pastor Julie’s message:
There’s power in prayer. Unless we pray, nothing is going to happen. Prayer moves mountains and prayer moves the heart of God. God answers prayers!

It is not about what we want to do, but what God wants to do through us because the anointing is from the Lord and He has anointed us to do His will.

(Ephesians 6:12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.)
(Zechariah 4:6 …‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the LORD of hosts.)

We need to guard the anointing that the Lord has bestowed on us. When we play a fool with our life, we will lose the anointing. So, what can cause us lose the anointing?

P = pride.
Pride will stand in the way of God. (James 4:6 …God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble).
Satan fell because of his pride and he is now using the very thing that caused his downfall to stumble us.

L = lust.
Don’t let lust come in the way of your ministry. Guard yourself against the lust of the flesh and of the eyes.
Respect each other’s ministry. Don’t be jealous of other people’s ministry, don’t lust for positions that the Lord has not anointed you to take.
But take up your cross and follow Jesus, Who did not consider His equality with God something to be grasped, but emptied Himself of everything (Philippians 2:6-7 who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men.).
No servant is greater than the Master. If Jesus is your Master, be like Him and give your all to Him. Your sacrifices are worth it all.

A = attitude.
Our attitude affects how we feel. We need to have a good attitude. No matter what the price is, let it be “not my will but Yours be done”.

Y = yo-yo (non-consistent).
We need to have a consistent quiet time with the Lord. Jesus was consistent. He never fails to spend time with the Father. He began His life with prayer and ended it with prayer. Maybe we say we do not know how to pray, but hasn’t the Lord said that His Spirit will help us?
